NLPDC believes that all learners have
a right to instruction that builds on thier strengths and addresses their needs. Children and adolescents who struggle
with literacy require particular types of support. Response to Intervention (RTI) increasingly provides a framework
for working with stuggling readers, but many approaches can be used both within and outside of RTI.
The 2013 Institute brings many new
opportunities and challenges to teachers, and no where is that more evident than in the planning process. This Institute will give youreal-world examples of teachers working
with colleagues to link instruction with theCommon Core, and take you step-by-step through the process of connecting assessmentsand lesson planning.
